Friends of Purley Oaks Primary School

About FOPS

Friends of Purley Oaks Primary School (FOPOPS) is about parents and teachers getting together to help raise money for the School in a fun and sociable way.

If you’re a parent of a pupil, or a pupil attending Purley Oaks Primary School – great news, you’re already a member of the Friends of Purley Oaks, and we encourage you to actively get involved. Whether you’re providing ideas, helping with events throughout the year, o.r just wanting to get involved… we’d love to hear from you.

The money we raise is invested back into the school, providing additional equipment and resources to enhance your child’s educational experience.

If you would like to get involved or have ideas to share then please contact us using the contact us page.

The FOPS committee is a group of parents and teachers who meet, organise and run the Friends of Purley Oaks charity and you can read more about them below. If you’re interested in finding out a little more about what it’s like to be a committee member, or keen to join the committee we’d love to hear from you.

Natasha Morris-Brown

Chair

I am a mother of two boys aged 15 and 8. I am also a Teaching Assistant and Emotional Literacy Support Assistant at Purley Oaks Primary School. I have always been impressed by
the work the PTA have done, as I feel it not only brings the school but the wider community together. So when I heard the PTA were
looking for new members, I could not wait to get on board. I am really excited to be the new chair and will continue to ensure the PTA strives to be the best it can be.
We are always looking for new
members or if you have some spare time, we would be grateful for
any extra hands.

Treasurer

My daughter started at Purley Oaks in 2022. She loves the amazing staff and is doing really well. Her progress academically has been clear from day one thanks to the support and encouragement of her teachers and wider staff members at the school.
I’m a Pensions Administrator at the Pension Protection Fund as well as a professional drummer in a function band along with other music projects in my spare time.
For me, being a part of the PTA is important as I’m collaborating with other like-minded parents and teachers to help make the school a great place for our children to have the best start in their learning journey.

But we cant do this without the support and help of our fellow parents and carers, so please do get involved in any way you can.

Daniel Handley

Secretary

My son joined Purley Oaks reception (Seals) in 2022 and I’m really pleased to say he loves coming into school every day.
I lead a Software Engineer team at Omnicom Media Group, and spend most of my days coding, and the rest of my time entertaining my son… but now finding some time for the PTA.
I was really keen to get more involved and work closer with the school, and to give something back – I was looking forward to joining PTA.
It’s great to work on events & fund raising ideas, and to be a part of a team which directly impacts every pupil’s learning journey.

I am a father of two. The youngest joined Purley Oaks Primary School in 2019/2020.
I work as a Project Manager at Liverpool Victoria General Insurance. My family moved to the U.K. in 2008 from Hong Kong. There are lots of similarities between Hong Kong and London so it has been a relatively smooth transition.
My wife and I joined the PTA at POPS together so that we can learn from the other parents and share our experience to help the school improve the welfare of the children.
We are so impressed with what has been achieved already.
We hope to keep the momentum going and to make POPS the best place for the children to be.
Please do join us and help us in anyway you can.
